I used to have a Mk2 HGT and have an itch to get another. However Im expecting floor pan and sills to need work. Mine was starting to go (though still MOT clear) when I sold it at least 5 years ago.

Can anyone point me to where I can get repair parts at reasonable costs? Another option would be an un rotted body shell but that's even more work and likely there's nothing about that's not already rusted out.

Any repairs I've seen done or had done on ours were local patches that the welder made up himself. I can't recall seeing panels and I think if you are looking at complete sill or floor panels the problem is more extensive than you think and you are into the appreciating classic car territory which these are not.

You would probably need to go to a specialist repair panel supplier to see what they could get in, these cars are now too cheap to ever be repaired following an accident and also too cheap to warrant any extensive rust patches or repairs which means little to no demand for replacement panels.

The cars were made up until 2012 for some markets so they maybe someone making bits but possibly not available in the uk
