Help, Please.

After hearing knocking coming from the rear of the car, I took the wheel off and found that the bush in the top of the shock absorber is extremely perished causing play.

My question is, can I just replace said bush, or do I need to replace the shock absorber?
If I can change just the bush, what would it be called?

No, you’ll pretty much have to change the shocks, fortunately they are inexpensive and can be changed with a couple of bolts.

your car is not worth new shockers
just wang a s/h one on the side thats faulty from say ebay

For god sakes also clean the exposed threads in the rear axles opening and ensure you get plenty of penatrating oil in there to!

The bottom bolts are known for seizing into place....

Dont force it out - work it out

But ive also replaced them where they came out no issues....

All done. £15 from ebay.
Bottom bolt came out fairly easily after spraying with WD40.
Annoying that it was a different size to the top bolt though, as I didnt have the right socket at first.

Looking on eBay and not being picky about any brands or suppliers, you could have had two new shocks for £21.

Last time i changed rear shocks i also did rear springs. £40 for 2 shocks and 2 springs brand new.
