Hello

I have a problem with my mk2 punto airbag system. The light is on, and when i diagnose it, it gives the code, "17 front side impact sensor (passenger side)". Does anybody know of this problem, or could advise me on the location of the front side impact sensor?

What spec have you got?

As i think only hgt and some elx and aporting got optional extras on th airbag system

I believe the sensor gonna be on the front cross member but ive never seen a punto with extra airbags in scrappies

im sure ive had a punto with a sensor bolted on to the flat part of the inner wing ,in my case it was on the left hand side as you look at the car from the front ie in front of the engine mount

According to Google, a volvo tech is saying that sensor on the inner wing is to turn off the engine misfire detector if the car is going over holes or rocks in the road.


On my car that part is Bosch 0 273 101 021 longitudinal acceleration sensor. The part is advertised for petrol cars.

It's in side under seat belt
