Hey I currently own a Punto mk2 and I was thinking if there's any wing mirror mod that could fit that replaces the original ones. Thanks.

you might need to be a bit more specific in what you want to achieve.

you can modify wing mirrors in a multitude of ways, what exactly is it you want to do?

Hey thanks for the answer. I want it not having that "rugged" part on the wing. Like so:

I want it more to look like this

Tbh, about the only mod I ever thought to do on my MK II mirrors is remove them altogether because:

a. They reduce the speed of the vehicle and
b. One gets better gas mileage with both mirrors removed.

"Slipstreamed" Punto.

The only thing I am interested in when I am riding my Punto is better gas mileage. If I want to impress I get on my Mercedes SLK.

you can go on Ebay and look for aftermarket wing mirrors, it just means you'll have to adjust them by manually moving the glass in the housing by hand without any control from the interior of the car.

Uk we have to have them ?

One can install internal mirrors port & stbd as well as a double-sized center mirror to replace the externals removed.

In fact, in my Mk II I have installed a double-sized center mirror over the original one as well as port side internal mirror.

When on the highway, I drive with both external mirrors folded. They are unnecessary.

Speaking of Gas Mileage, unleaded 95 pertrol price here in Greece has exceeded 2 euros per litre in some areas, which is considered an "historical record".

Case in point:

According to a statement made today by the President of the Gas Station Owners' Union, price of Unleaded 95 will soon reach "2.5" Euros.

This should be about the only thing that Greece finds herself well surpassing the United Kingdom and should be a Guiness World Record too.

In UK units, an Imperial Gallon of Unleaded 95 costs 9.10 euros.

Dunno about that, I paid £1:27 per litre at the weekend, with an exchange rate of €1.14 that makes €6:58 per gallon.

As for door mirrors being being unnecessary on the highway, not to sure of that, I'm glancing in all three mirrors on a regular basis, I also do a lifesaver glance over my shoulder before moving out.

I'm glad I'm not on the same highway!
In the UK you MUST have a driver side external mirror and a passenger side mirror if car was made after 2010 or if the internal mirror is missing or not providing adequate view. See https://assets.publishing.service.g...ata/file/408211/Information_Sheet_Mirrors.pdf
Most European countries will be similar.

You are freaking out for no reason. With my extra large center mirror and PS (driver's side) internal mirror, I get a perfectly adequate view of the port side of the car. Overtaking from the starboard side of the car is illegal, so the stbd side mirror on the highway is unnecessary.

No, you pay 1,446 euros per litre or 6.57 euros per Imp. Gallon.

Are you quite serious? How do you reverse safely anywhere remotely tight or public? Ah, am guessing you never noticed how easy it is to use mirrors, nor have ever driven a large vehicle. Cameras can replace them, anything else you are fooling yourself. Any legal exceptions you might find were never intended for a normal car.
And any fuel saving is laughable.

Ι guess you missed the part where I said that I only fold the mirrors on the highway. I keep them extended for urban and suburban driving.

Fuel saving one gets for highway driving with the external mirrors folded is not insignificant and it has been calculated with some precision by the hypermiling community at ecomodder.com

You have a comment where you advocate driving with external mirrors removed, though you do go on to say folded. Either way I seriously question your rational in real work driving at any speed and I fully understand your fuel saving, it is not enough to justify the loss of situational awareness round the whole car... Do you wind it out at congested slip roads and roundabouts? Cyclists? Idiot undertaking? I could go on, again, drive a bigger vehicle at any speed and you will appreciate mirrors, cars are no different.

I really really really hope you are joking!!!!
If not :bang:

Great idea...but unfortunately here in the UK having mirrors on a Hatchback is a legal requirement
