I think those earlier puntos did not have a very good crash protection reputation. the mk2b from 2003 is much better. Even in mint condition it is not a collectors car and almost nobody wants to pay over the market price for an old car. How much are they going for these days? £500?

You voted on your own poll!

I’d be a bit kinder than Ziggy, maybe £1000 to the right person.

From personal experience of low mileage mk2 puntos, they tend to have weird problems, like separating clutch plates due to surface rust. Rubber hoses and seals dry up and leak. And despite the low mileage, unless it’s been kept in a warm dry climate controlled garage, it can still rust, maybe not at bad as one that’s been on the road but rust is enough to scrap much newer cars than 2000.

It would be nice to see it, if it is in tip top condition without rust, definitely an enthusiasts car. But not worth much if it’s a standard model.

If you were living in Greece, you 'd get 2000 to 3000 euros for your car.

Case in point:
https://www.car.gr/classifieds/cars/?condition=%CE%9A%CE%B1%CE%B9%CE%BD%CE%BF%CF%8D%CF%81%CE%B9%CE%BF&condition=%CE%9C%CE%B5%CF%84%CE%B1%CF%87%CE%B5%CE%B9%CF%81%CE%B9%CF%83%CE%BC%CE%AD%CE%BD%CE%BF&make=124&make=124&model=144&offer_type=sale&pg=2&registration-from=%3E2000&registration-to=%3C2002

Dunno why they sell for nothing in the UK.

Almost nobody here would believe that you have done just 18k miles. Almost everyone would think that you have tampered with the odometer somehow. It is very common for people (and firms) selling 2nd hand cars to tamper with the odometer in order to reduce the mileage, but I never saw anyone selling an 18k miles 18 y.o. Punto so far. :)

Would like to add that Puntos are still very common here. The other day when I went to the supermarket for shopping I was driving line abreast with a 5D MkII punto and I parked the car at the SM parking lot right opposite another parked MkII Punto. I always get to see other MKII Puntos when I go out, either parked or being driven on the road. MK2b's are less common.

stick it in a garage for another 15 years well protected and i guess after 15 years someone might value it as a classic, unfortunately it doesnt have any real value in 2018 other tha as a bruiser to get you about so £500
shame like

well what ever you think I love to bits and I have full service history and it has only 17090 miles on the clock

500 is probably tops tbh....

Mk2 and mk2bs are dying out - the last of the breeds are still going but not as many
