Hi guys this is probably going to sound daft but here goes....

I'm doing the brakes on the missus mk2b 16v 1.2 but the pads I got from europarts ,, eicher have 2 different sizes in the box 2 large ones and 2 smaller ones.... is this correct and if so which goes where in the calliper?? Ive never done brakes before on this car its been mostly engine serving and replacing other items thermostats etc...

Thanks in advance

Hi, I tried the Eper but it says there's an error when i try to select front wheel brakes.

To be honest i was asking the question as i dont want to pull the existing pads out only to find the ones i have are the wrong size and put them back and drive back to the parts shop.

Just seemed very odd that a set of pads would be 2 different sizes

Here's a link to the ones in question https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/...38e7af93ac0f40111c21c1c76bc4d5b39bf8ca&000036

Assymetric pads are rare but not unknown. I don't think the one you have are correct for your car. With ECP you always need to check the "fitment details" especially for brake parts. There is a lot of variation. Bifferent makes of system may be fitted to the same model depending on availability / cost at the time.

Take them back and get ECP to check. Make a note of your VIN number to give to them.

Went to ECP and ordered a different set and the guys were as useful as a chocolate fire guard 2ndset were all the same size and turned out to be the correct ones

The ecp website is coming up with lots of incorrect pads for all sorts of manufactures and cars. Check carefully.
