Tuning Auto boxes.. m.way MPG..??

Hi.
Seen a tidy mk2 with the CHROME gear selector housing IIRC thats the CVT box.

Would the CVT make an eonomic 75mph car?

I reckon the CVT should make off.load speed driving LONG GEARED..and therefore pretty economic.
M4 so not too hilly.

Anybody remember..??

I was pleased with the economy of my Mk2 CVT, from August 2003 to April 2004, but can't remember the figures.
Needs to drive faultlessly. Any issues with this gearbox is not user serviceable, so renders a car of that age scrap.

I shall be very jealous. Still miss mine.

I'd say .. if you want en economic highway cruiser... get a diesel.

75mph-120 hm/h isn't that great for fuel efficiency

Agreed.. been using a 110 jtd..in a marea

Maybe a 147 with 6 speed would work..

No longer need LOTS of space.

A quick calculation means @£1500 in fuel per year...

So % Savings will pay for tyres.etc


maybe look for LPG converted FIAT.. probably very niche though
