Has anyone of you FF peeps ever Removed the HGTs Injector wiring loom off before? (Wiring also connects up the coil packs, MAF etc, goes along fuel rail and joins to injector connection ports to fire them off)

I need to change it over and have gotten 99% of it off.
There’s just one more bit just where the loom earth point that attaches to the back of the engine & starter. There’s a smaller bit of cable attached to part of the earth cable that goes from that under the rear plastic manifold that sits under the fuel rail.

Has anyone accessed it before and how did you remove it? It’s proving difficult because of the tight engine space to see where I’m removing it from. I don’t have any pics atm of it but can do tomorrow if it will help explain what I’m on about lol.

Thanks in advance

Pictures if possible would help alot here

On a good note
The punto has an easy release engine loom in the sense that it has 2 big multi connectors under the engine bay fuse box which allows the engine and loom to be removed together :) hgt has same fuse box - just more electrical goodies

This suspected earth wire may be accessible from underneath or is it the knock sensor?

The hgt isnt a popular engine vs the 1.2 8v or the 1.2 16v
Diesels didnt take a huge fancy till the mk2b with the 1.3 diesel

An oooold thread but thought I would put it to bed as it may help someone else experiencing similar difficulties. Borrowing this pic from ‘Whitesei’, the wire I was referring to I now know to be the earth for the ECU. I have added a red circle to indicate where this other wire trailed off from the earth at the back of the engine under the loom. Well it took few days (and cursing lol), manipulating my fingers and a small spanner, I managed to get the last part of the loom I needed to and replaced it with a newer injector loom successfully. It was a lot easier to access this last part of the cable from the top rather than the bottom of the engine and because it is a tight bay your hand will suffer from cramping and some small scratches, but it is possible to do ?
