Hi! I wonder if anyone here can help. I have recently moved to the UK and brought my 2002 Fiat Punto with me. It's a great little run around, it made it all the way here from Finland then passed an MOT with no problems, I really see no point in scrapping it, though it obviously isn't worth anything.

I am trying to register it here, but it is so difficult! I was told it will only cost £55 and I won't need a certificate of conformity since it's over 10 years old, however the information the form is asking for is impossible to answer without the COC :D It costs like £200 to get one so I really want to avoid it. Is there any other way I can get detailed specification info about my car to help me fill in the form? They want to know things like "HC + NOx(g/km)" "drive-by sound level (dB(A))" "Particulates (pmg/km or g/kWh)" How on earth am I expected to know this stuff? :p

Thanks for any help!

Some of these are in the manual, for example I have a 2006 MK2b and in the owner handbook it has a page on CO2 emissions, the 1.2 8v is 136 g/km, the 1.2 16v is 138 g/km.
Particulates are only for diesel cars I believe.

the dB (A) level is 72, well that is the 1.2 8v, I've got that off my V5.

What other things do you need, I'm sure between us all we can get all the numbers you need.

Can you scan/photo it and put it up here?

Here is mine, hopefully some of these numbers help?

Wow thanks so much for that! It has a lot of the information I need, not sure if it would be the same for mine? Mine's the pre-facelift MK2. But maybe they won't notice anyway! I am uploading a picture of the form, some bits I've filled already with info from my registration documents.

Mk2 and mk2b are practically same

Mk2b did get a slightly ""greener"" engine map due to extra lambda and cam sensors

Please note - trim level does affect things as well
Higher soec usually means extras - like subwoofers and any extra airbags etc

Yet i laugh... a punto can go upto 2.3 tonnes... friggin hell an 8v brakes would be on fire!

was loading 3 x 60l + 1x 25l barrels filled with oil to my 1.2 with handbrake engaged and when i released handbrake and started to drive i could hear some strange sound on right rear wheel which would get more frequent with increasing speed, rear shoes probably exploded and are touching drum- need to take it apart to have a look

Ha! Probably ripped shoe material off....

I dropped 200kg of cement stuff into boot of the punto and it was on the bump stops
Only recently had new springs and dampers....
