Hi, I am new to this forum and could do with some help.
the car is a 2003 1.2 Punto non abs

I have the no speedo and very light steering issue, I know there has been a lot of threads on this, but I can find anything that helps me fix it or what the problem really is.

on Autodata it tells you to test the sensor with a LED light, so i thought first of all I would check the power feed to the sensor, I have 3 wires and I am assuming Earth, Signal, Power. I have no power feed with the ignition on. So I think that is the start of my problem. No point putting a LED on the terminals because I have no power feed.
When these cars have a power feed problem , there is talk of a MOD loom, I would think that it is picking up a feed and probably an earth from another place. Why not find the break in the wire?. it is not a very big loom.

I cant find out if I should have 12v or 5v, and why cant I pick up the live from another sensor.

I hope I am making some sense .

Can anyone help please

if no speedo and no abs i would suspect vehicle speed sensor
its located on top of rear of gearbox
this would cause power steering to remain light at speed
very dangerous

I am sure it is the speed sensor, I have no power feed to it,

can someone send me a engine management drawing for this car please , I need to test the sensor wiring at the ecu or bcm wherever they go.

The one I have from autodata shows a fuse 10 for the sensor, but on my car this is for the horn?.

Probably the sensor as you say, I out a scope on the sensor wire yesterday and no signal, I get 12v when running.

Ill get a new sensor tomorrow

Thanks

I will let you know how it goes

New sensor fitted and still no speedo , I have checked live data and no rpm showing, so I started to check the wiring, and as soon as I tested the signal wire from the sensor to the connector next to the fuse board. the wire was fine, but when I looked at the connector the female end where the green and blue wire goes and the male side had no pin, it is in a different place so the wire is going no where. so I am thinking the engine has been changed and the loom from that engine is different. I think I will get another loom from a scrappy. I will be back. i would put pictures on if I knew how.
