Hi

My son has a Fiat Grande Punto. His rear view mirror has come off and has lost the bit that is bonded to the glass to clip the mirror on to.

My local Fiat dealer doesn't stock, nor does Auto Windscreens. Both were trying to sell me a whole new windscreen. (Somewhat excessive I thought)!!

A breaker won't separate from a windscreen as it will likely break the windscreen.

Anyone any other ideas?

I'm surprised they got separated.
Have to ask but is everyone sure it isn't still on the mirror stalk ?

The reason they want to sell the whole screen is that for most cars the mount is bonded to the screen when the screen is manufactured.

The ones on eBay appear to be for the Ducato (but are the correct part) because the ducato can be sold with no rear windows or a metal bulkhead so no need for a rear view mirror, someone later removes the bulkhead or adds some windows then they may want to fit a rear view mirror. Ducato vans don’t routinely need the mount fitted to the glass from the factory.
