Hi guys
I know I have a dodgy solenoid at least as it sometimes whirrs or grinds but always starts eventually despite not turning engine previously
So I got a Haynes manual & you would think its easy peasy!
However how on earth do I access the upper bolt of the starter to undo it & do I need specialist tools along the way please guys? :bang::D

Oh yes if you wouldnt mind like a step by step guide how to get access from engine bay top please guys?

bare in mind it might be a flywheel tooth issue accentuated by a worn starter motor#
nasa put a thousand monkeys to work on why a petrol engine always seems to stop in a certain place hence thus these teeth get more worn per starting than any others:D
the top bolt is accessed from gearbox side by the way
take battery and tray out helps

Could be the speed gear add ons are obstructing the bolt?

so.....

1.remove battery and battery tray

2. A 13mm spanner is needed that is the exact length? Not sure what this means.

Presumably too short and you cant turn it and too long it is hitting something??

Is that the same NASA that spent millions developing a pen that could write in Zero Gravity....whilst the Russians simply used a pencil ?
