Good mates,

What shocks you recommend me not to lose much agility of the 1.2 16v Sporting and to gain some comfort?

I plan to replace the oem shocks for this ones:

KYB with reference numbers 334866 y 343329 (same for HGT models)

Any experience about Kayaba Excel G on the mk2 Punto Sporting?

I will not change the springs, I hope the car do not raise in height with KBY, I read in other forums that using Bilsteing B6 can raise the height with stock springs.

Thank u very much!!

Ride height is 99% springs dictated
Shocks only absorb the recoiling of the spring

They wont affect ride height.
You will find the ride becomes firmer a small amount, ad naturally the old shocks will have worn bushings and fanpening effect slightly looser then old shocks

I found my car better with speed bumps when i replaced mine
Less harsh and less movment

Kyb is a well known suspension brand so your okay there

Take nots that the bottom shock bolt seize alot
Lots of spray oil, impact if possible or working it back and forth.....

Copper slip it up before reinserting it

a friend changes the stock shocks in a mk2 HGT with a Lip Sport and the car is taller now with same springs.

and if u see the mk2b sporting is a little higher than the mk2 sporting :)

Regards

anyone with a mk2 Sporting can talk about what shock absorbers bought to replace the stock shocks??

Thanks in advance

I just put two kyb excel g's on my stilo multijet... its a heavy front ended car, it has transformed the car.

My wheel had snapped and bent the nearside shock... see my thread.

I stripped the front end of all its suspension and brakes... cleaned everything... had a pissball about with coilovers not fitting my hub carrier so went with kyb excel g's and oem like for like springs made by surplex or something...

Its not lowered but its all rebuilt and back on the road... feels much firmer and much nicer on the bumps... havent had a spirited drive yet as alignment is shocking and needs sorting and i have a leaky c.v boot so im taking her steady and using her just to get to work and back... will do the other bits next week and change gearbox oil at same time.

Thank you very much for your useful answers.

I had good feedback from a friend with a Stilo Schumaker JTD 150hp but I would like to know first hand oppinions from Punto Sporting drivers... no one??

Regards

Sorry... did i read that correctly... there isn't a stilo shumacker in jtd form... but the multijet (jtd 16v) 150hp uses same suspension as 2.4 abarth petrol... check part numbers etc... i cross referenced the lot and spoke to a few fiat specialists and dealerships...
