Driver's side link rod has become detached from the wiper's drive arm.

Has anyone had success using the repair clips available on ebay?

Many thanks.

I've bought a pair so I have a spare if the other side disconnects.

Temporary repair is a couple of ny-ties with the joint covered in grease so the ties aren't cut by the metal edges when moving.

Should the clip fail to do the job, there's a linkage/motor in the local breakers.

Ive repaired mije via a nut/bolt and washer setup

Eventually the linkage will become sloppy, so when it overshoots and smashes the edge and bottom when its raining heavy / juddering all the time / jerky movement thej you will probably wanna replace it all, its next on my list im affraid

Ziggy

While they are a quick fix they will eventually become loose and keep popping off over time.

I drilled a hole through my wifes one and fitted a large washer.
It definitely isn't going anywhere and worked a charm.

I used an old worn linkage to make up a new one. Only one joint usually wears so get an old worn one and do a bit of measuring and cutting. The one I made was working g fine 3 yrs after I did it. Just be accurate with the measurements. New complete linkages are available as well.

Job done with the clip!

If the linkage falls apart again, I'll source a new mechanism from the local breakers.

Thanks all for posting.

I do not understand, why has someone invented the clip or selling the whole replacement linkages with the plastic bushes. The bushes are just held in place with a circlip. Why cant you just remove the circlip, take out the worn plastic bush and put a new one in that will last another 15 years. When they make the replacement linkages they are making the bushes as well so surely someone sells the bushes, the steel bar linkage will never need replacing, that part will out live all of us !
