Hello! I am hoping someone can help us. We took our Punto to the mechanic recently to change the brakes and he gave it the once over as well. He found that the gasket (?) above the head gasket was leaking abit, so we would like to replace it. The problem is, we don't know the name of it to order the part! The mechanic doesn't know the English name for it as he is from Portugal, so we are in a bind! :D If anyone knows what this is called, and better yet, if you know what it is called in Finnish (as we live in Finland) please tell me! Thanks!

I am not 100% certain of what you are discussing. Charlie

Now I'm at a PC .. I can see the picture more clearly..

in my experience.., the seal is NOT a traditiona; paper style gasket..but more like a rubber "o2 ring seal.

I remove the seal, clean all the parts..add alittle " loctite" style liquid sealant, and gently reassemble.. it does NOT need to be bolted down really hard,

I agree with Charlie. I have bought many new seals for that cover and it always leaks unless you apply sealer. I use black silicone. The tricky parts are where the seal goes over the hump. Be careful applying it and let it harden a bit before reassembly. You do not want anything falling down and blocking the oil pickup in the sump.
My honest assessment of that leak is that it is a lot less now than it will be after you try to fix it. I would ignore it for the moment.
