Technical 54 plate boost/MAP sensor??

Hi all..


I have a 54 plate diesel punto which cuts into limp mode when revs hit about 2500 or so and wont then go above 70-75 on the motorway.
The engine management code is something about a faulty boost sensor for which I have bought a new one off Ebay.


I have a friend who is much more mechanically minded than me but neither of us can find the location of the old one to remove it??


He has recently given the car a service, replacing oil, fuel and air filters but couldn't see anything that looked remotely like the new one we have (hopefully its showing as an attachment?!).


Can anyone pinpoint where/how to get at the current one?!

thats boost pressure valve, maybe near battery, slam panel?

Cheers Flisko. I'll have a butchers in that area in the morning. We assumed it would be on or very close to the engine somewhere....

Nope!. Had the battery out but no sign of it in that area or around the slam plate!?!?

mhm, dunno then, never had a diesel punto, what about behind inlet manifold near bosch pump?

If its like the astra which has the same 1.3 diesel turbo engine
His was on the chassis leg right at the front (near fog light area) driver side

You must be able to find the 2 boost/vacuum lines and follow them back - it'll be in there somewhere
