My 1.2 16v Dynamic petrol

Gets 42 - 43 mpg on the display.

That's with 20miles motorway and 20 miles A roads, everyday
On the motorway I drive around 60 - 70 in the mornings and 70 - 80 in the evening.

47 litres in a tank that would be 440 miles on a full tank to running on empty. (which I don't obviously do very often, but I do sometimes.)

Nothing wrong with the HGT efficiency. Ive had the 1.2 sporting and now the 1.8 HGT both quite efficient getting around 40-50 to the gallon depending on how heavy a foot is used x

50 Miles per gallon =
21.2571854 kilometers per liter

on a hgt?, no chance, unless you drive 60kmh in 5th gear on straight road without stopping for hours

21,5km/l when I last checked, mk2b engine seems to be more efficient. 21,0km/l was highest I ever saw with original engine :D

it depends alot on the type of runs done
My old mk2 did alot more longer runs before i moved to work
and regular Trips to leicester from Notts

but now - its average is just 2 - 5mins daily.... its crap MPG as a result
Im yet to see my mk2b beat my mk2....

Seriously I bumble around our local village and to town and back, averaging about 60 miles on a tenners worth of fuel. Motorways are much more efficient getting at least 40mpg

10£ gets about 2 gallons of fuel (about 8.4litres - depending on price

If ur doing 60miles thats about 30mpg...
I barely scrape that at best... im like 25mpg most tanks....

Itll do 40 easily on the motorways I admit 50 might be pushing it but it doesnt do far off. Mine has had a new head gasket and timing belt and only done 80k I don't know if that has helped at all? I was really worried about the fuel economy after having the 1.2 but its practically the same (unless you drive everywhere with a lead foot of course then you get a lot less as my husband finds out when he borrows it lol).

Out of curiosity my husband was driving it today so I kept an eye on the actual consumption. Took a snapshot of the max 54.2 but realistically stuck around 35.

there is one problem here, you cant drive hgt normally cuz you know car can go fast, as opposed to 1.2 which doesnt go anywhere, so there is no point in pushing it= always low consumption

Hahaah so I think were now established if theyre driven lightly then they are actually quite economical :)
