First of all, i assume you mean a Punto hgt (not a bravo).
Ziggy is correct that the 1.8-engines are lousy ecu-tuning candidates due to the self-regulating hitachi-unit.
With more serious tuning, this can easily be overcome with a replacing ECU like a MS. However, the information regarding tuning of this engine on the internet is rather limited, mainly because of this ECU, and because a car with this 1.8 will almost allways also fit a 2.0 or 2.0 turbo (not the punto hgt, at least not easily...)
But, to remain positive, i believe this engine has been used for racing purposes from factory, so sufficiënt power can be obtained from this engine. I also think Guy Croft has some information about tuning of this engine.
