Alright guys and girls

I am trying to fit my Kendwood Headunit into the Punto but the wires are in the wrong order and Autoleads don't make an ISO adaptor for the 2B.

Does anyone know what wires in the standard headunit ISO do what so that I can move the wires on my Kenwood ISO?

Basically I know that one of the two power wires aren't meeting up because when I plug it in I can eject the CD but I dont pick up anything else.

I know it is the Red and the Yellow wire on the Kenwood ISO but is it the same colours on the factory ISO?

Any help would be great as I dont wanna go and **** up my wiring

Cheers (y)

i needed to join the red and yellow wires up cause fiat only use 1 wire for power on the 2b

from memory i think i joined the yellow to the red on the iso

was connecting a sony hu up at the time, i imagine it be similer

So basically what you are saying is I need to see which one is meeting the Red on the Fiat wiring and join my Red and Yellow together at that pin.

Sorry but I want to make sure I am understanding you correctly because I dont want to mess up the wring on a new car

yes exactly that

you need to connect the spare wire (red or yellow) to the one that is giving power already (enough to eject the cd)

one of the wires is permenant power and the other is switched power

there was space on my iso to do this, was a 2 to 1 bullet adapter, sorry for being vague

there is no need to cut, crimp or strip any wires (y)

Cheers Gaz, I'll take a look at it on Friday as I convinced my boss to give me the day off :D

I was just going to take it to a profesional but I dont want to pay someone else to move one wire when I know in my head that I can do it now.

Thanks for the help mate (y)

no probs, i was also going to get it done by the professionals cause i was head scratching all day over it

i tried allsorts of combinations and finally had the idea of connecting both the power wires together  , after that a 5 minute job :D

Yea, well I brought the facia adaptor on the day of POD, I decided not to go to POD becuase I wanted to get the Headunit fitted and after about an hour of doing the same (head scratching) because I couldnt figure out why it wouldnt work I decided to take a trip to Halfords to get an ISO adaptor as I assumed that was what I needed, only to be told that they dont make one for the car and I needed to take it to a professional.

But now I will finally be able to get some sounds in the Punto as my MP3 player doesnt hold enough songs to keep me occupied while on a long drive LOL

i used iso adapter that came with sony hu, i also got given a free is for mk2 , but power wires need joining together :bang: dont know why fiat changed it

the only difference between iso's is one had 2 blocks going into main wiring block and other had 1 block going into main wiring block

if you confused like me i can get you a pic tomorrow

i cant find my camera, put it somewhere safe and now i lost it

you cant really go wrong with the wiring, red and yellow coming out of the hu, connect red to yellow or yellow to red, then connect iso to wiring block and fingers crossed it works

Alright dude, thats cool.

I know what you mean, I have got things put safely away that I have been looking for for years now LOL

I'll let you know how I get on when I do it on Friday, hopefully have some decent music in the Punto again (y)

Cheers mate, I completely forgot about the bullets on the Kenwood ISO.

I will definately get it all sorted on Friday.

I now need to get some new 6x9s and maybe a sub and amp as I sold all the ICE from the Clio to Whiley (minus the headunit and the CD changer which I wanted for the Punto).

While we are on the subject, does anyone know what size the door speakers are as I have the Sony Xplodes from the Clio lying in the garage?

16.5cms if you want to keep the grill, but will need to be very shallow to fit

17cms without the grill, or with autolead pods can be a little deeper fit

Cheers Gaz

Looks like I wont be reusing the Xplodes from the Clio as they were only 13cm.

Has yours got standard speakers or have you upgraded?

If standard, what is the sound quality like?

i upgraded all the speakers apart from tweeters, they never came with fixings and i didnt fancy cutting my new car up to make them fit

the fronts i went for http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk/acatalog/info%5f5%5f6500cs%2ehtml

i needed to fit autolead pods with these speakers, cheapest i found was £35 from www.lowcostcaraudio.com

rears http://www.mcs-direct.co.uk/acatalog/info%5f5%5f4002i%2ehtml

i stuck with inifinty cause i like them, i was also planning to amp them all up, but still havent found my hole from engine bay to inside of car, so decided to sell my amps and subs....which i now regret :(

they are loads more and cheaper alternatives out there

i couldnt really argue with the sound quality with the standard speakers, they where not that bad, bassier than the infinity's , but i have set these up to filter out any bass, that what subs are for, could crank them up to over half way and they still wanted more, not sure how long they would of lasted though

I need some help

I have spliced the red and yellow wires together, the headuint now works but it doesnt switch on and off with the ignition, instead I have to switch it on and off at the unit.

Does your do this, if not, can you tell me which wires you spliced into what?

Basically the problem is both my Live and Ignition feed are going to the live feed from the cars wiring, do you know which wire on the Fiat wiring is the Ignition feed (if they use one, I assume so)?

Sorry if I sound like an ICE NOOB but I really am stumped, I could leave it the way it is but I am a bit of a perfectionist and therefore not satisfied with the way it is working
