Hey all.

I think i have an issue with that my thermostat is stuck open. Takes longer then it used to to heat up in the mornings (I know its cold now but still). When i'm driving along. Temp never goes above 1/4 of the way. However, if im in slow moving traffic or sat at traffic lights. Temperature would raise up to half way as normal. But as soon as i start to get some speed again (probs 15+mph), drops right down to 1/4 again.

I'm going to order a thermostat tonight as that what i think it is, probably still has the original one in anyway. Tho these hose clips look like they will be a pain as they're not a standard jubilee clip :bang:

In case im wrong does anyone have any ideas of what else it could be?

For info, talking about a 05 1.8 HGT abarth

Sounds like thermostat to me. Order a couple of jubilee clips while you're at it to replace the standard fiat jobbies, unless you want to invest in a specialist tool to be able to remove/replace them properly.

Was just thinking the same thing (y)

How would you recommend getting the current ones off without damaging the hose?

safest way to remove factory clips is sidecuts on the sticky out bit grab it and twist,i wear gloves as they become like stanley blades,i would do these any other way unless i was scrapping it
