Is there any chance that the 16" OZ Ultraleggeras are lighter than the 15" stock sporting wheels typically found on a mk2b? Thinking for an upgrade, but I'm worried about the extra fuel consumption and poorer performance that usually comes with larger and heavier wheels.

Stick to 15" 's
Why? Cheaper tyres

The differential - isn't always that strong and often fails with larger wheels
