I have read a few posts about the fuel light flashing and saying zero.
most of these posts say there car didn't start, this isn't the case for me,

I have had a fuel pump problem, the car was juddering and stalling and not getting much power, the pump was also whining loudly. so I go another fuel pump, fitted the pump and the car started but the fuel light started to flash and the gauge went to empty. (which means there is a fault in the system)
I put the old pump back in to check the car since last I started it and there was no flashing fuel light with the old pump.
I do have fuel in the car for those about to say that! probably half a tank.
so all the wires, injectors and fuel lines work with the old pump, so they aren't the problem either. the problem I guess, with the old pump was the filter was most likely clogged, hence the lack of fuel and stalling/juddering.
so the new pump works and starts the car, what could the problem be?
anyone with knowledge or similar problem happen?
thanks :):bang:

thanks for that...........sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo useful!!! my problem is now fixed!
are you going to get arnie to help me?
opr have you got more useful things to say!!!????

sry, couldnt resist

well if fuel light wasnt flashing before and started to flash insta when you put new pump in, it may appear its something in the new pump that is bad
i would swap all the wires from old pump and put it to new

isn't the level sender built into the pump..?
