I am building a space framed rear engined drag racer but using nothing other than my punto as parts it was a challenge set by my wife I am now at the stage of wiring in an AEM race engine management system my only stick point is I am not sure what the cam and crank sensors are Hall or VR I would really appreciate if any of you guys can put me right. Thanks:confused:

I am led to believe there are variable resistance type

They are given a fixed voltage and as the toothed wheels pass
They create a a/c style waveform
It knowa when tdc is due to the spike/flat caused by the knotch without a tooth on them
I believe the cam sensor has a knotch on cam pulley that alloys the pickup to work

Ziggy

Thanks for that Ziggy I had a feeling it might be the VR type, glad you can confirm. My ECU can handle either but I have to tell it which one first then it takes over from there.

Cheers R.
