Hi guys, so my car failed it's mot and needed new headlights which I've put in.. However I thought all was ok but it turns out the new lights don't have the electrical adjusters. Now I've got the back of the old light with the wires I need, however I don't know where the wires should go? Any help would be much appreciated!

Are you talking about where to connect the headlight adjuster wires on the old lights that you had taken off?

I had a look at my car. I just have a single external multiconnector for all the headlights wiring and then behind the rubber cap for the adjustable light there is only visible earth wires and wires for each bulb

Hiya. It's to put the old wires on the new light, as for some reason the new light has a blank where the big wire should go! Hopefully the image attached shows the wires I'm on about! Thanks

Hi,

Don't know if it would help, however you do not need to have the lights self adjusting.

My son runs a focus ghia, which has the HID ( projector type ) headlight, he had a slight mishap and damaged the offside one, enough to need a total replacement.

New cost for one....over £250+ , second hand one from scrappie........ Rarer then rocking horse poo.

So we replaced both headlights with standard halogen ones, OEM supplied all C marked etc for £90 inc bulbs.

However. The originals auto levelled as it was a ghia, no motors in replacements or means of fitting. So left the lights in the neutral position, ( they came with a blank which did the job )

Took it to garage for its MOT as it was imminent, they adjusted the lights using the normal adjusters to the correct position, and it passed. ( it's passed twice since and not always at the same place.

After all, older cars had no adjustment in the first place did they?

Hope this helps

Ken
