Alot of pain and suffering

You will need everything from a HGT car - as nothing really matchs anything from the punto petrols or diesels

You will need the complete engine loom - ecu - Car dash clocks - Fusebox - Keys - Lock set, and possibly gearbox
Maybe even driveshafts - im not sure - never had to play with one much

Not only that
You will need a complete brakes overhaul - and rear axle swap?
Why? The HGT is fast compared to a puny 1.2, so much so it has the same brakes on the rear on the HGT as the fronts do on a 1.2 punto
The fronts are MUCH Larger

You will probably need a new master cylinder to accompany the uprated brakes

next its suspension
Why the HGT is MUCH heavier vs a Puny 1.2 again
So they use different springs and shockers to take the weight

Hell - even the tyres are different for the HGT - Need a speed rating of V's vs the T speed rating of the steelies

All in all - you are pretty much 100% better off buying a 1.8 HGT

As the insurance complications of having a over modified 1.2 --> 1.8 will be anal in the price vs a 1.8 in bog standard form

The Road tax wise - you will need the V5 updating so DVLA can charge you correctly

See this massive list thats growing?

Hell - its getting out of control for an engine swap?

Save your car - save your labour - Buy an actual 1.8 HGT car, not just the engine

And dont think the 1.2 car stock will take the 1.8, it will, but try and stop and steer that ****er....
it will just cook the brakes to crisp and the car wont handle as it'll be rolling all over the place and be sloppy
