My 02 puntos engine warning light came on after we'd gone about 50 miles. After letting it cool we added some oil and the light went out, another 45 miles the light came back on. There's no loss of power or excessive noise. What could it be?

Have you got a temp gauge in the car?:slayer: I'm guessing no, so looking at thermostat sticking open, if you have a temp gauge should be bang on 1/2 way with no movement while driving. If any of the above looks familiar change it b4 you do a HG.

Engine warning = check enginr

Poster says they put oil in and light goes out.... until engine gets hot again

Oil will not put the check engine lighy on
But it will put the oil can (oil pressure warning) light on

Poster - u need to confirm which light ur actually getting
Why? It really does affect what advice we can give you

If its oil warning - engines got oil supply issues could get expensive

If its an engine shape, it cud be cheap ro expensive too
