My Punto HGT the driver seat belt spring is broken won't go back all way what is suppose to be. Are the 5 door same belt as the 3 door I have side airbag
because on ebay 3 door belt is more expensive than the 5 door.

3 door seatbelt metal pipe is trapped inside the seatbelt itself, on 5 door it isnt, maybe you could go on by cutting your old belt and sowing it again on 5 door one pipe, dunno rly, could be different size/lenght, never rly paid attention to that

also 5 door seatbelt got a hole at the end of the belt which screws to chassis

further investigation is necessary

I've never had to take out the belt from a Punto but I'm sure they aren't trapped in the sill. There is most surely a way to do it but it may involve stripping a lot of trim.

Rubbish, Having spent 30 yrs investigating road accidents I have seen people get out without a scratch after accidents that would undoubtedly have been seriously injured had they not been wearing seat belts. It is very irresponsible to say that seat belts don't matter.

The seat belt have arrive today by the post, it is from 2005 Punto at scrapyard, I am try to pull strap to see if it will go back after release but I could not pull out feel like lock out. Are this suppose to? I don't want to waste my time take trim out then the seat belt is broken and put everything back again.

ive been looking at a lot of posts ref seatbelts because I have a problem. Read somewhere belt unit has to be at correct angle for it to work. I wouldn't panic yet
