My HGT has an issue were when driving the engine light will flash and then there will be lack of power from the accelerator, then the rev gauge will drop to 0 and the car will cut out and won't immediately restart.
If the car is started when stationary, the revs idle between 500 & 1500 then the car starts to splutter when the revs drop to lower until the car dies.
No codes are being stored and on live mapping cylinder 1 gets a misfire but fuelling is good.
So after reading through the forum on similar issues the following has been replaced/fixed:
Full engine loom rewire.
Coilfingers
Can & crank sensors
Cambelt & variator
I mentioned the throttle body and he said it has been checked.
The cars only done 53k with FSH.
Originally the problem only occurred when warm, then slightly warm. I got the car back after the engine loom rewire and it drove fine for 20 minutes of foot down and stop/start driving then engine light flashed and the symptoms reappeared.
He thinks it may be ECU related.
Any other suggestions before it goes down that route?
