Trying to install new Radio Pioneer DEH-1600UB.

I know this is probably a common question but tried looking on previous posts, didn't find much answers.

Problem 1)
Cables, i bought a kit on ebay/used bit from my old punto that apparently "should" work. But it never switched on, no life or anything. I know i need to get adapters for my speakers/sub, but there was just no life at all to the unit.

There seems to be old speaker cables but im guessing they don't work/been removed since they wasn't connected to the original head unit.

So question is, what am i missing? What cables do i need? I've tried looking online, everything seems to be for Punto MK2, nothing for HGT Abarth. I also have steering wheel controls which id like eventually connected up, but for now i just want the dam thing working.

Problem 2)
I the kit i bought on ebay which apparently "fits" my model. The Fascia doesn't seem to fit/click in. It seems the right type, but not sure if there's a slightly different model or if the fascia I've received is just crap

This is the kit in question

Here are some beautiful pictures.

The Punto Abarth is not a super duper special model, what they did was take a standard HGT punto swap the bumpers and stick an Abarth badge on it.

So that said the reason the stereo adaptor doesn't fit is because the adaptor is most likely of cheap quality and has warped out of shape (or was never moulded to the right shape to begin with)

The reason the stereo won't power up is because the wiring on puntos is not standard ISO wiring despite using the same plugs (hence needing a wiring adaptor which is why in that wiring adaptor the yellow and red wires have built connectors as these will need swapping about to get the radio to power on.

Generally speaking there is no ignition live behind the radio so if you want it to turn off and on with the ignition you need to put a wire from an ignition source to the back of the radio....

There are a million and one threads on the forum that cover this and guides in the guides section

I looked on other threads before posting this and didn't find many answers or anything that solved my problem. I Already tried changing the red & yellow wires around. I noticed the actually wiring adapter doesn't match up to the block in the car, e.g red power cable isn't actually connecting to anything, its just going into an empty slot in the adapter. So i'm either guessing i need to work some magic and rewire the adapter or I've been given the wrong one

Your an 2005 - means your a 2005 punto
Which has a canbus controlled power system

So when you connected it up - it was only getting 1 of the 2 power feeds it needs i believe

The Green/blue/yellow wires WONT fit into the new HU
So those phone functions etc will be lost

The 2 Mono cables Should plug in no problem to the new HU, most have them on the back or in the wiring plug

The antenna (radio) you've gotta look at whats on your stereo, you MAY need to pull the little adaptor to allow it to fit yours, they all vary

Makes sense. So if i get a multimeter find out which one is the live, then piggy back of the cig lighters live, theoretically i should get power?
