Get some wet and dry paper start with coarse stuff and work your way to the less coarse stuff, making sure to keep the paper and headlight wet ( dont let it dry out else it will scratch it.) Once your happy polish them to a shine with some cutting compound, again do this wet.

I used normal tcut on my mates misted out mk4 astra headlights but yours tbh would probably be best done like Fiatpuntomk2b says

I did mine but they werent that bad

Using some 1000grit going down to 1400grit
Plenty of lubrication (water)

Then using a machine polish pad I went at mine by hand with a gritty polish then refined after

I saw a bug difference :)

You can buy a 20quid diy kit
But its your call there

Mine headlight were about that bad and I bearly got any light on the road at night.

Just before the last MOT I decided to sort them out. Removed the headlights (no need to remove the front bumper as some would have you beleive, just lossen the bolts at the sides of the bumper). I then put a polishing mop in my power drill and bolted the hole set up to a work bench and started polishing the head lights.

I tried all sorts on the first one, T cut, polishing compound but I actualy found the best option was cheap whitening toothpaste as suggested by others. At the end I looked like a snowman and smelt minty fresh but my headlight looked much better and passed the mot. It is also a massive improvement on night driving now I can see where I am going.

Unfortunately once they start to fog up they will keep getting worse and mine are starting to haze again after only a few months but polishing them once a year is better than £100+ per headlight (I have fogs which add a lot to the price).

I have my MOT coming up at the end of the month....would having bad cloudy lights possibly fail my MOT ???

Thanks for the kind offering though, that's really nice of you !

Danielle1 have you tried your local breakers yards as they normally cost about £40 for some second hand ones

Yours are getting to the point where they could fail the mot, it will come down to light output, beam pattern but mostly the testers mood.

Mine were an advisory - "Nearside/Offside headlamp has a product on the lens but not seriously reducing light output [1.7.5a]"

Best stuff to use on milky headlights is. Farecla g3
IMHO.
Its not expensive..worth atry.

Sorry your to far away..or iwouid gladly of given you a pair of headlights..
Postage would be expensive..or I'd post em out.

Hi I purchased a 3M kit from ebay and did mine myself. I would strongly recommend you use a corded drill not a cordless as you will not get the same results. mine ended up looking like new and will always recommend this technique. Cost £17.99 and here is the item number on e bay if interested. 111207179283 Hope that helps. 1 last really useful tip is do not use cheap masking tape as when it gets wet its sticks like soggy poop to a blanket. :)
