Hello recently bought a punto and the stereo which it came with doesnt actually have the correct connections. So Im wondering if its possible to fit an Aux cable to the standard connection in the car and then just add a faceplate to where the stereo should go?

Do you mean the stereo doesn't have a AUX connection on the front for your phone/mp3 player

Is it the original Blaupaknt unit? if so, then i'd say - you need to get an aftermarket unit, wire that in correctly to get the functions you need

Very few actually came with AUX, i think HGT's do because of the CD changer Andy Monty can confirm this?

But its much easier to go aftermarket
I have yet again - to enjoy bluetooth handsfree as well :)

Im not wanting to use the stereo at all, i just want to remove it. So im left with the connector from the car and thats all, can i wire an aux cable up to that?

Oh you wanna get behind it

Unfortunatly i dowt any device you wire in like a MP3/ipod/Phone is actually powerful enough to actually drive the speakers

The connections behind are either power in and outs
and then 4 / 8 wires for the speakers
