Ive been using ECU scan for a couple of years on an old laptop (XP). Recently tried installing it on another laptop that uses Vista.

Has anyone been able to get it to run on Vista? as it seems to crash my laptop every time I try to open it.

Drivers seemed to install easy enough just the software won't open.

If you right click the icon then compatibility should allow you to select to run as windows xp

Unfortunately that doesn't solve anything. Thanks for trying though. Has anyone actually got it to work in Vista?

I've had it working on vista in the past with no problems at all, I would suggest it's not exclusively the operating system

It works fine with Windows Vista, 7 and 8. I had to install drivers for 8 to get it working. http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm

Thanks for the replies. I don't seem to have any problems with drivers. I can see the cable in device manager and says all is working properly. Its just the software being a nuisance. Won't even open.

Forgot to say its actually Vista home basic.... wonder if that makes a difference? I've also got .net framework 3.5 SP1
