i recently bought a punto 02 plate , got it home and found out that the passenger side , main beam wasnt working . so i tried to putting a new bulb in and that didnt work .. i also checked the fuses and they are okay . i bought a new headlight and put new bulbs in and the main beam doesnt work . Can anyone help ?

The fuse may be OK but is there a feed to it? If there is then, as Ziggs says, you need to continuity test the wire to the headlamp. Brendan's comment about the earth wire is a valid point but since you've changed the headlamp that probably rules that out but still worth checking if you've fitted a previously enjoyed lamp.

Well
Since bulb and fuse is rulled out
Relay aytomatically gets ruled out because they split after relay
Headlight cluster is rulled out as new one has same issues

Id test from the multi plug to affect sides fuse to check for issues
I dont bother continuity, I personally test resistance weather it be high or low u know if its working

Id noy bother with earth as the whole light cluster goes via that 1 pin
So if its dead the whole light would be

You have ""fixed"" the passenger side - by doing what?

Because suddenly the other side now aint working is somewhat wonderous of either a dodgey connection somewhere or just bad luck that the bulb/fuse has blown
