Ok, bit of a random one.. i have this really really annoying squeak going on at the back of my car,... now at first i thought it might be the exhaust shaking away when i went over bumps..however, logic has brought me to thinking its possibky my suspension as its only really obvious when i turn a certain way, and the car leans slightly.. in a straight line its fine, and at speed theres no sound..

When its been jet washed it seems to be ok for a short while, but eventually starts up again (i assume when it dries out?)
Its like a high pitched squeak, quite a rapid noise, not a groan, like i'd expect suspension probs to sound more like.. i dunno..

has anyone else experience similar probs or knows a solution?

Thanks ;)

Might need to take the wheel off to get to it!

Yep, annoying isnt it! Its the handbrake cable rubbing on a securing mount near the back wheel- have a look around there and you'll find it. Stick some grease where it comes into contact with the mount ;)

Thanks... thats all it is? cool, its been driving me mad!! lol. :p
I will defiantely have to get some hot looking alloy's now, if only for the excuse to whip the wheels off..

Thats a big help..Thank u ;)

Unfortunally it will return after a extended period, however I like many others do this as a matter of course at a service even though its not on te service list but its such a common problem it might well be on the list soon!

I had this annoying squeak on my Punto and had i to the Fiat deaer three time for them to apply a "special hard grease" which only stopped the squeak for around three weeks, finally they admitted there was a problem with the type of axel used and i got it booked in for a new type replacement axel 8 months ago, no more squeak and it was done under the warranty!!!!

That would have been for a squeak from the pivot bushes, these can sometimes be stripped and a special grease applied or if too bad require the rear axle replaced.
