Hi, I was driving along today all hunky dorry & then my injesction system failure light came on. Its a punto mk2 1.2 16v sporting 02 reg, the engine was really shaking & making a chug-chug noise like thomas the tank engine and there was a definate loss of power.

I've spoken to someone at my local fiat garage & booked it in for next week, they've told me not to drive it and that it could be miss-firing? to be honest i dont really have a clue as i've never encountered a problem like this with a car, but I was just wondering if anyone could suggest what might be the problem & what it might cost me to get it fixed?

I know the fiat dealer will be more expensive but I trust them & would prefer them to do any work on my little punto.

If its misfiring (shaking like crazy at idle and down on power) I would bet a night with Christina Applegate that its HT leads, probably no 2. Easy to see, pull out the HT leads after removing the airbox and you will see a light grey patch where its been arcing out on the solid part of the lead.
