My wife has a 2001 8v Punto, still under the 3 year warranty. A couple of months ago I noticed a slight oil leak from the head gasket, the car's done around 12,000 miles. The Fiat dealer skimmed the head and replaced the gasket (they wanted to fit a new head, but Fiat's engineer refused and told them to skim the head).

Now a couple of months later there's a slight oil leak from the same place! The cars going into the dealer next week - I don't know what they're going to do yet.

Does anyone know if there's any history of head problems with these cars, especially this new?

Hi welcome to the fiat forum.
There are a lot of people on here that have had head gasket problems. there are also a lot of people who haven't.
There are a lot of people on here who say fiat technishions are crap, I haven't come across a post yet that says they are good!
If it has gone again so soon it proubly wasn,t fitted propely, did they clean the surface on top of the engine? did they fit new bolts did they tighten it correctly?
