Hi everyone! I've had my punto mk2 for about 9 months now and it's been great up until about 3 weeks ago when it started misfiring.

I have changed the spark plugs, HT leads and the air filter but its still there! could it be the cam belt and can it be changed without the help of a mechanic?

oh and another thing three days after buying it the rear silencer fell off, so i had a new one clamped on and there is a rattling noise and a huge clonking noise when i go over big pot holes, can this be easily fixed?

Great forum by the way.

misfire is proberly coil pack.they are in pairs.with thick rubber gloves, take off a plug lead one at a time.if the engine misses more, put plug lead back.if the engine does not change then thats the offending one.a new coil is approx £30 +vat.the knocking etc is proberly a misaligned exhaust hitting the floor.
