I have got a 2001 punto mk2 and want to change gear knob.... is this same way as mk1 where it has to be cut?? if that is case then how is it done exactly[?]

Also have been looking for parts on ebay and, this may seem a stupid question with very obvious answer, but once you sent the seller the money how can i be sure i get stuff sent to me[?][?]

Thanks in advance,
paul :D

Despite what the name says I now drive a punto!

Not too sure about the knob pit as i want to change mine(mk1 punto) but guessing you cut just below the other knob!

On ebay you never know if they will send or not! but i have ordered a couple of things and both times have recieved the products, white dials for my car and M3 mirrors sent straight out to me nice and easy! jobs a goodun!

Anyway happy ebaying

I have recently changed the gear knob in my mk2 punto.
You dont need to cut the stick, however it would provide a slightly better finish.

I chose not to cut mine and when the lift reverse part is fully down, there is a very small gap. It can be overcome by simply taking about 0.5-1cm off the top.

It doesnt bother me, so i just leave it as it is :)

In regards to ebay, if you pay for items via paypal and do not receive the item you may open up a dispute this goes against the seller and 9 times out of 10 sees either the item delivered or your money returned. It can also lead to the user at fault being banned from using the site. Im happy to say ive never had a problem whilst using ebay!

Mark1 gearknobs u can either cut through the rubbery knob to the hard plastic beneath and go through that as well. Or given enough yanking they do pull off.
Either that or just cut the gear stick itself to shorten it while u going ;)
