yep i just put 17`s on no problem the other day just the retaining screws will need to be taken off if you have them. (y)

I was wondering this as i have a mk1 punto and want to put some alloys on it are you sure 16's and 17's go no probs???

as far as i know yes. but you may have to take out the inner arches on the back but they only plastic but i am sure somebody will have 1 on here who will know more than me

but if its not been lowered i mean completely standard 16's will 100% fit without any rubbing??

Im not 100% sure- ive never been near a mk1 Punto. But at a guess, if there was any rubbing (unlikely if car is light) it wont be worth worrying about.

for the sake of assurance i've debated just getting a set of standard 13's fiat branded as you can get them quite cheap, but when i had a flat tyre the other day i noticed how bad looking my rear brakes were! my old discs will look awful behind a set of alloys!

All depends what model you have as the Sporting and GTs have lower suspension as standard.

16s will fit no problem but tyres can cost more than 17s because they are more rare.
16s may rub if your tyres are wider than 195,45,16

17s will slow your 0-60 down alot more and need lowering, other wise you look like you drive a 4x4

I have gone for 15s and lowered 40mm much cheaper !!

you can paint rear brake drums silver with smooth hammerite

Yes mate i have a standard punto 1.1 S! :(

I keep seeing the words, 'wheel spacers' come up when people talk about alloys what are these? and how do you know what size and type you need?
