Good Evening All!

Just a quickie, Bell Insurance fitted a Black Box to my sons Punto, his policy has now expired and we've insured elsewhere, Bell wanted £100 to remove the box I told them to shove it.

Now I know these things keep transmitting and they sell your stats to other insurers so I want to remove it.

My question is, I can't see it, where would they have installed it? Are they easy to remove?

Look in the fuse box near the steering wheel. Thats where they installed mine.

It will be 'stashed behind centre console or glove box..
These unit's differ some just have an ignition live some have an airiel like on a sat nav'..

The black box will more than likely just be cable tied up somewhere..

I took one out of Renault Laguna..just snipped the wires and flung it in the wheelie bin..

A'spose you couid wire it up to a 9 v smoke alarm battery and let them track it going to the recycling dump.. :devil:

I've found them all over, behind the dash, under the seats or under the carpets or sides of the boot, they have to wire it in somewhere so look for any wiring that's non standard

Mines was installed right next to the fuse box on drivers side.

Hi mine is also in the fuse box the bloke just let me stand there and watch him fit it

I had one of these my self, If you want to keep it for another policy wire in a switch in the live 12v feed and turn it off when you want or again mine was located under the glove box and wired behind the dash, they arnt that hard too remove your self and most mechanics wont charge that much for them to remove it also

There is good access under the dashboard - if you look at the top right - it has a void that near the Drivers side vent near the door
Alot of aftermarket central locking kits / aftermarket alarms and stuff get jammed up there

I took off the fuse box cover, steering cowl, tried to trace back wires, looked behind the dash, can I find this box? No I can't, this is now my weekend project, wherever this guy his it, he's good.....................

Got it!

It was stuck on the inside of the dash, above the o/s air vent with double sided number plate tape, now removed.
