Hi all,

Im sure you know by now, I'm doing a HGT/Abarth project. One of the main things that look different on the inside of a HGT is the speedo.

My car is just an Active Sport 2b, with a black speedo. I really like the look of the HGT ones that have a white speedo.

I've seen one on eBay... just wondering how you change the speedo's. I know that the binnacle has to come off, but is there just one big plug in the back that just comes out?

Only trouble is that my car has just ticked over to 60,000 miles and the speedo on eBay is on 58,000 miles.. So basically does this make it impossible to change it over?

HGT's come with alot of other options that are only on HGT
like outside tempature sensors reading, and what not

It also HAS to be a HGT mk2b speedo to match your mk2b speedo

As mk2 and mk2b DONT change over very easily - if not at all

Since you've done 60k
And the HGT speedo is 58K - it could be fitted, and have proxy alignment done to correct the mileage and stop it flashing
But not sure about the other dash features working properly

IF you were super serious about making the dash ""more sporty"" Lockwood iirc do a white dash conversion that looks blue instead :)

HGT have the more advanced trip computer which displays things like radio stations, out side temp (which needs HGT electric heater mirrors as thats where the sensor is located) multiple trip computers and service indicators, these tie into the HGT body computer which is more advanced on the HGT

Thanks Ziggy,

Thats exactly what I wanted to know. The more I think about it, the more complicated it becomes to me haha!

Maybe I'll just stick to my old Active Sport speedo!!
