Hi

Today started the car and it was running rough, on 3 or maybe even 2 cylinders. Lifted the bonnet, and started disconecting HT leads from coil pack. The car was still running rough if I disconected HT leads from one of the two coil pack(one at a time), and on the other coil pack if I disconected the HT lead it died, it didn't matter which HT lead on the same coil pack.

Are my coil pack ready to be replaced ?

Had previous problem where intermittently would start rough and after a few seconds it would be normal smooth running(EML turns on).
Punto 2001, 1.2 8V

Best regards

(Are my coil pack ready to be replaced ?)
at least one of them are id guess,

id change HT leads and plugs too, these 8valve's is prone for eating ecu's
because of faulty leads/coilpacks etc,

HT leads were replaced 2 years ago, is there any type of inspection to check wear of the HT leads ?

I've got new news today tried to test coil packs and the car turned over nicely and runned smooth, EML was still on. Guessing still from yesterday. Does this mean that there is ECU problem or maybe spark plug issue ?

Didn't code read for errors, but yesterday when turned the car on EML light wasn't lit, car is still running normal. Is this any help or still when the error is present code read ?

I think I have cured my rough running punto, have a read of my thread about throttle bodies. Dimantle and clean all electrical contactor rails, this is what the ecu reads information regarding throttle opening / air flow

You cant ""test"" a HT lead as such
You can look for blue flash's
You can check for general condition, but i wouldnt bother

There cheap to replace -so Replace them :)

Spark plugs are £3 - 4 ea for NGK (which fiat used in the punto BTW)

You can probably get the whole HT/Spark for £25 notes :)
If you have a coil pack fail, avoid white box, buy a quality branded, like magnitelli who make alot of fiats electrics, or even champion/NGK versions of the coils
