Hi , strange one perhaps , but every so often and it appears to be quite random , a short Beep will be emitted by the car when driving , it say 1 second or so long , i must admit i do have a warning light showing at the moment for the airbag , but i intend to reset this as i have just bought one of the bluetooth dongles to turn off warning lights (light came on because i slammed the glove box shut triggering the sensor)

I have tried to figure out when the beep happens , what i was just doing whilst driving , to see if it is a particular action , but it seems quite random !

I have had a quick look through the manual , but i cannot see anything that mentions beeping noises , the only time i similar noise , but it is for entire period of when i am reverseing .

Anyone shed any light on this one please

Are you an automatic by any chance?

As the automatics like spotlessly clean connectors and pins on the rear light clusters
If there is any sign of light interferance due to a corroded pin or connector - it confuses the poor auto box ecu thinking reverse has been engaged when it hasn't

Usually a good clean on both cures this

------

Slamming the glove box and airbag light is now on - sounds like you've possibly pulled the connection or damaged the wiring

I advise that you DONT just reset the code - as i have a susupicion it will just back on within a short spave of time

Remember if you DO do any work on airbags, they require 10mins discharge before working on them

Hi ziggy, that's spot on, it is a automatic, I'm not very good with cars, but even for me is it a easy enough task with basic tools and some switch cleaner? Any links on how to do it would be great or further advice.

thank you for your fast reply

Here is a guide i made a while ago
- Your best of jumping to the part called - i've got disco lights
it also goes through removing lights :)

its really easy todo

Switch cleaner is good for the plug - and washing everything away, but not so good if there is a layer of oxidisation or corrosion on the pins

A micro file - sand paper - even scratching it off with a flat blade screwdriver would work better

Hi Ziggy , Thank you , Great guide , i am going to attempt this tomorrow , as the beeping is happening more often , But i hope i can ask a couple of questions before i tackle this job in the morning ( i never do any car work)

1) My car has the sub woofer in the back , i have had a quick look , i can only see 2 screws , so i presume , i just need to remove those two screws and the sub will lift out and i just remove the connector to the sub ?

2) The beeping has become more frequent , the display when beeping , does indeed show the R for reverse , so it is a confusion / bad connector thing , BUT just today my gear box warning light is now flashing , i presume this is because the bad connector situation has confused the computer etc , so it is now showing a warning light......I did buy a OCB unit thingie that plugs into the car a while ago , a bluetooth one , i have the software on my phone........

So the question is , once i have cleaned all the connections , if i clear all the lights with the OCB box unit thingie , that should fix the problem overall ?!!?

Advice please :)

Ziggy, looks like your guide has done the trick, one of the earth connectors was very much in need of a clean, all the other pins looked fine, I wonder why it was just the earth that was in very much need of a clean
