My current instrument cluster only has mph and a fuel gauge, I was wondering if I could change this and did a bit of searching and found out that you could fit one from an active sport model? Can anybody help me out and tell me if this one would fit and would it be easy to fit? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/251579866695?nav=SEARCH
I have a 2002 Punto :D

Hi,

Yes you can upgrade the clocks to a higher spec version, but there are a couple of caveats...

- You need to make sure they are from the same type of punto. Ie you cant fit Mk2b clocks in a Mk2 punto (without extensive modification anyway)

- The mileage on the new clocks should be LOWER than the actually mileage on your car to make matching the mileage easier.

- The new clocks MAY require "proxy alignment" which will enable them to talk to the car correctly and set your correct millage from the BCU. I believe this can be done with Multi ECU Scan.

- Try and avoid clocks out of HGT or diesel models that have extra warning lights.

In your OP you mention fitting clocks from an "active sport" this would be a mk2b and would not fit your mk2.

The link you provide show clocks from a mk2 (y)

As said though, provided you meet all of the above caveats, it's a straight forward job.
