Technical something weired

something weird

recently i've noticed something weird in my punto mk1
while i'm driving 60 Kph the speedometer showes around 80.
how can i fix it ?

no, I didn't. I'm Using The original 14"

sounds strange if you have still got the original wheels on, i am sure someone on here will read this who might know what the problem is

could be a number of faults. could be a bad earth or a incorrect feed to the transducer. It could be the tranducer. But i suspect the dash clocks could be faulty. Replaced these before for the same fault. p.s What are you checking it against, that may be faulty.

well, first of all, i've chacke it against my freind with a new Passat.
now, what you saying is that i should first replace the dash clock?
and then check the transducer? what is it anyway? (don't know the word).
could you please explain its job?

well . . . what is the transducer
and whre can iget dash clock?, mine is whithout revs clock or temp clock (for the temp its only a lamp)

The transducer is what sits on the back of the gearbox. This is turned by the gearbox and then that componet gives the signal out the dashboard clocks.The dashboard clocks then recieve this signal and move the speedo. Either i would get from a scrap yard. The dash clocks new are not cheap. REMEMBER this is what i think, it could be the wiring to the transducer as said before or between the clocks.

TNX Ex I think you right, the problem is that in israel its not easy to find a punto in scrap yard. hope i will.
