Recently bought the 5 disc changer for my new punto since it had the slot and connection already there. Didnt come with a code but i got one, would of needed to at some point anyway since the previous owner didn't know the code to the radio anyway.

Problem iv got is it doesn't seem to be working. Not lighting up, wont eject discs, doesn't detect it on my radio?

Am i possibly missing a fuse or something? The cd changer unit has apparently been tested before buying

press and hold the SRC button whilst keeping it pressed -then press the power on
it shouid switch to changer then, -you have to stand on one leg whilst doing this or it wont work,

it shouid eject discs mind so id suspect the unit aint getting power,

have you pulled the radio forward
to check if its actualy plugged in there,

ipresume cd changer will get power from the HU
imight be wrong tho,

Just been looking and it seems at some point there was another sub or something in the boot. There's a cable in the boot that's been cut. And another same colour etc near the positive battery but not actually connected. Dunno if it was a sub tho because my punto already comes standard with one.

Anyway like you I'm now suspecting they've played behind the radio with another sub and now the cd changer cable is not connected. Need to get some those metal keys to get it out tho...

The changer takes all its power from the head unit. So first thing is to remove the head unit and plug the changer directly into the head.
Best to first plug changer in with no discs in, but if they're already there, it may take a couple of on/offs to sort it.
When you plug the changer into the head, have the head turned off. Turn head unit on and let it see the changer, it should shuffle and gurgle a few moments then settle. Lights should come on on the changer. Then it should be visible when you select CD, two presses usually.
These units can be unreliable. I've had mine since 2002, repaired 2005, just broken again. Currently with a repairer in Bath awaiting its turn for diagnosis, estimate 2-3 weeks.

Other repair option is Blaupunkt's official repairer,
http://www.blaupunktdirect.co.uk/repairs.html
They quoted around £150 to repair, they send it to Germany, so takes a while, estimate 2 weeks. Communicating with these guys I was disappointed with their attitude, not helpful, actually quite arrogant, bordering on rude. So I'm trying the helpful people at Maple Audio. I'll report back when diagnosed.

Nearly there! Pulled head unit out and the changer cable wasn't plugged in! Disconnected it all before installing to try reset it. Comes up with "MAG SCAN". Doesn't play the cd that's in there. Can't seem to eject it either. Did try pull power from head unit again just same problem. Ran out of time tho needed to get to work

try to sync the head unit with changer,

post 3 above,

maybe headunit has to switch over to 'CHANGER' before it will work,

Switches to changer fine. That's when it displays MAG SCAN. Eventually stops and displays CD05.

Oddly the radio hasn't prompted any code even when I disconnected it all and still seemed to have my saved stations.

Will try discounting again when I get home from work. Maybe I didn't leave it out long enough but was a good 5 mins before I reconnected

(Oddly the radio hasn't prompted any code even when I disconnected it all and still seemed to have my saved stations. )

the radio is coded to the car,so no need for the code unless its removed
and and installed in another vehicle,

perhaps the cd changer is faulty?

contact the seller you bought it off, (perhaps)
