Hi,
does anyone know where ican get a Wiring diagram from?
My autodata is gone now so..icarnt use that, its useless anyway,

looking for a diagram on the electric mirrors,

ive traced the wiring back so far but ive got lost with it,
one half of it seems to go up into dashboard

ive got all the loom and switches so ithought iwouid have a go at it.

iwas also just thinking of making my own loom up for it using bits of the wiring from the hgt .. using a feed off ciggy lighter -(fused link) wouid it work?
how wouid it be possible to switch it..relay?

the traction control button from the hgt is going to be a boot popper thats the plan anyway.

Hi mate,

It should be fairly easy to make them work. As you say you can take a switched live ignition feed from the cigarette lighter socket.

H30 is your Mirror control switch.

C20 and C30 need to be connected to earth.

Wiring colours from left to right...

AV - Light blue/green
AZ - Light Blue/ Violet
VN - Violet/ Black

ZB - Violet/ White
AZ - Light Blue/ Violet
AS - Light Blue/ Pink
VN - Green/ Black
NZ - Black/ Violet
N - Black

AB - Light blue/ White
AV - light Blue / green

VN - green / Black
AZ - Light Blue / Violet
AV - Light Blue / Green

P60 is the left mirror P61 is the right mirror.

So essentially all you need is +12v feed fused at 7.5amps or lower on pins 7 and 8 of the control switch (light blue and white cables)
The black and black and violet cables at pin 5 need earthing..
And then the rest is just interconnection between the two mirrors.

The heating side of the mirror is controlled by the BCU.

In the good old days, I'd just swap the floor and door looms and all would work, since canBus, there are no such guarantees even for basic stuff like the mirrors, however you should be ok to swap the door looms which will save you the hassle of making your own loom and give you one touch window control (assuming the older HGTs had this) then all you need to do is hack into the floor loom to sort the rest of the wiring.

Don't forget the HGT will have heated mirrors which are very handy

Thanks Andy.
I'm not going to wire in the heated side of the mirrors.
I will just get the motors to work..

Ishouid be able to just push the pins out the looms in doors and just add to mine..
The blanks/holes shouid be there for them I guess..
A decent fuse block added to the live..feeds should be safe..

Mirrors are on and make a big difference but its a bit of a FAFF adjusting them manually..

Only down side is the TCS button.. indeed to do something with that.. idont like having buttons that don't work.. :(

Sorry to jump on an old thread, I've searched for ages trying to get a few answers. The only thing the mk2 Sporting was missing when it was released, is electric heated mirrors in my opinion. They are definitely handy.

I'd really appreciate some help if someone could enlighten me.

1. I understand what has been said at the start of the thread in order to get the mirrors moving, I am just wondering how to get the heated part working. - Am I right in thinking I will need to tap into the heated rear window wiring?

2. Am I right in thinking the electric Punto mirrors can both be electrically folded back by putting the mirror selector switch in the middle then pressing the direction button?

3. I am thinking of taking a fused power feed from the cigarette lighter circuit, and I was going to make my own wiring loom, so I know I'll probably have to solder some wires to the mirror control switch.

Does it sound like I'm heading in the right direction?

Any help would be really gratefully appreciated!

I've studied the diagram on the Haynes Manual a bit closer, and it looks like the heated side of the mirrors are routed to the 7.5A (F41) fuse on the fuse box in the passenger compartment. I assume that's all I need to do to power the heater coils in the mirrors.

If I can successfully do these, I'll try and post up a step by step guide for anyone that's interested in doing it.
