Hi guys

Is there a guide here for doing the front discs on an 8v 2004

or are they that obviously easy to change?

seen sets on fleabay.
turn my hands to most of the simple things.

cheers Stu

The pagid 257mm discs I brought are solid and not vented as are the ones that are on it at the moment (haven't fitted the new ones yet)

I just need to work the courage up to do it, I know I can do it as I'm pretty damn practical just don't want to **** it up and have my gf going 'I told you so'

i havent read the guide but the video is misleading as said because its wrong for 8 valve
anyone unfamiliar with the pin and r clip setup could easily knock 7 bells out of the clip and break a lug
did it myself on the first mk1 punto i did a brake jobbie on
new calipot then required

If your car has VENTED disc's - you need to replace them with vented

You wont be able to fit Solid disc's

Is anybody local to you? as they might be willing to help you for small money tokens or beer or subways?

I don't think anyone is local to me (bromsgrove)

I remember Andy saying his car was the 1.3 diesel in that video so might explain the vented discs

Yup mine is a 1.3 16v Turbo diesel hence the vented discs

video gives a good indication and there is a guy on youtube who did a change on a 1.2 8v with solid discs you just need to track it down.

in all honesty though vented or solid changing the discs isnt any different (which is what the OP was asking) its just the pads that differ

anyhow Mr Z

our torquey Diesels will still see off your 1.2 petrol's way before the turbo kicks in and use less fuel doing so :p

Ahh, well I just brought 3 cans of brake cleaner and some copper grease all for £7.73 from euro

Hopefully shall fit them tomorrow if weather isnt bad

But dirty diesel - is no match for Rattly tappet italian going for it still :D

We have 9 more ponies and 80 more torques as well as getting to 60 a full 0.8 seconds faster !!!!! you're toast sir and you know it.

the only things that slows us down is all the extra money we still have in our pocket from the tax disc (y)
