I have a punto mk2 2003 3 door it has the reverse mechanism like I have to lift a lever below the top part of the shifter I was wondering if I could change just the top part of it for a different style

You used to be able to get (I think OMP or Sparco did them) adaptors to replace the reverse detente lifters/pushers.

Alternatively, it should be possible to remove the reverse detente mechanism completely at the remote.
