My punto was running lumpy and white smoke was coming out the exhaust and cut out with no throttle so i changed the ecu + coil pack + plugs. It now still runs lumpy but it doesn't cut out + no white smoke. What else can I do? It doesnt run right. sounds like a subaru but really struggles to drive

Does the car hesitate?

I had a similair issue few days ago, air/fuel combustion wasn't right because my HT leads needed replaced, along with a good clean of my throttle body.

Just saying because you haven't mentioned anything about HT leads

I have changed the ht leads aswell still the same just runs really rough so i am going to try steel seal on it tomorrow saw a similar video on youtube with a punto so will try that

ive cleaned the throttle body but it stinks of petrol the only other thing i was thinking of was the labda sensor but other than that I have no idea.

no warning lights on.?,
and not had to top-up coolant??

if not losing coolant - DON'T use any goo ( Kseal / radweld, etc),
you'll just clag-up the cooling system and almost GUARANTEE a HG failure :(

fuelly smell = at the exhaust.. or under bonnet..??,
